Twenty20 – Giving Back to Local Communities

Twenty20 is the charitable arm of Kitex Garments. This nonprofit's mission is to benefit the rural community in Kerala, India, where our organic products are made. In the past several years, we have devoted over $5 million USD, through Twenty20, to improving the living standards of the area's more than 8,000 families (most of whom aren't connected to Kitex) by building homes and schools and providing necessities from medical services to fresh drinking water and functional roads. And we've committed $60 million to making further improvements in the area over the next five years. While we are committed to adorable, high-quality clothes for babies and kids, we're about much more than that, too - just like our customers are.

Amongst the many initiatives, Twenty20 is chiefly focused on food and nutrition security, education, housing and sanitation, healthcare, mother and child care, roads and infrastructure, drinking water, farming and ground water conservation.

To date we have built 1882 houses, paved 48 miles of roads, installed 3,834 streetlights, dug 20 miles of water canals and 1,681 wells that connect running tap water in 709 households. We subsidize 50% of food and provisions for 12,000 families, have completed 2,620 medical surgeries, planted over 180,000 trees, and cultivated 950 acres of land for farming. Three schools and 14 nursery day cares have been constructed, three school buses have been donated, and much much more.
